About

The good, the bad, and the nasty on being a fashionable mom. Every day is a new adventure with a few outfit changes, a little craziness, stress and sometimes tears but, most of all lots of love and smiles. This is my life. This is who I am.

Detoxing for the soul

This time of year is a great opportunity to detox before the holidays.  I love a good cleanse.  I'm starting today with absolutely no animal products, and then in a few days I will go 100% raw.  It always feels so good to reboot my digestive system.  I'm going to be using a new cleansing system made by blessed herbs.  (Don't worry I checked with the pediatrician and the colon hydrotherapist it is ok to use while nursing.  In fact the CH used it recently while nursing her newborn).  There will be lots of juicing and good nutrient rich foods.  With our busy schedules my husband and I haven't been the best with our food choices.  So, I'm using this opportunity to kick myself in the butt to get back into my healthy state of mind.  We have purchased a hiking pack for the baby and we are getting a heavy bag for a new fun workout.  I am also trying to find a good space heater for hot yoga.  For today's blog I wanted to give you some great juice combinations I love and I hope it motivates you to eat and drink a little healthier as we move into the crazy holiday season.  All of these drinks have so many different benefits, cleansing, aiding in digestion, and of course vitamins and minerals.

Green Giant
Half a bunch of Kale
5 celery sticks
Half a bunch of parsley
1 red Apple
Lemon juice

Prana
A bunch of celery
1/4 of a pineapple
1 green apple

Spicy Carrot
10 carrots
As much ginger as you can tolerate

Love
10 carrots
1/2 a cucumber
1 beet with greens

The Greenery
7 carrots
1/2 bunch of spinich
1/2 bunch of parsley
1 beet with greens

Breakfast blend fresh squeezed
Orange
Grapefruit
With vitamineral green

These are just my favorites there are so many other combinations you can try.  Another food I love to consume while cleansing is Acai and Acerole Cherry.  I really enjoy acai bowls.  Another way you can make them besides the typical instructions on the pack is...

1 Acai pack
Mango juice
1 peach (I like white peaches)
Handful of blueberries

So good.  :) I hope everyone takes a moment to think twice about what they put in their body over the next two months.  Always remember your body is the only place you have to live while you're here.  Take care of it.
