About

The good, the bad, and the nasty on being a fashionable mom. Every day is a new adventure with a few outfit changes, a little craziness, stress and sometimes tears but, most of all lots of love and smiles. This is my life. This is who I am.

The holidays

I have a love hate relationship with the holidays.  I love to shop, I hate buying gifts.  Only because I think about how picky I am and I would rather have money.  I love to make gifts, I think they are more thoughtful.  I hate how much time they take, but, I love how in the end it was all worth it.  I love the act of gift giving, but I hate how in the end I'm thinking did I give enough.  If you watch The big bang theory I am Sheldon about gift giving and I quote "Oh Penny I know you think you're being generous, but the foundation of gift giving is reciprocity, you haven't given me a gift.  You have given me an obligation.  The essence of the custom is that I now have to go out and purchase for you a gift of commensurate value and representing the same perceived level of friendship as that represented by the gift you have given me.  It's no wonder suicide rates sky rocket this time of year."
Plus let's be honest I go shopping and I end up spending twice much.  One for them, one for me.  I can't help it.  I know I have a problem.  The first step is admitting you have a problem.  That's as far as I have got.  I don't want to change.  I love my addiction.  Who doesn't love great makeup, great clothes, great bags, and great accessories.  I will say I'm learning to shop smarter.  This past week I found a pair of seven jeans at Marshalls for $30 and a Michael Kors bag for a $160.  (Which by the way I didn't buy.  My husband made me choose purse or camera.  I chose camera.  Don't worry though I'll be going back for another great bag find).  :)  p.s. Sorry I haven't posted pictures I have so much great stuff but, I've been trying to figure out how to display without being in the picture. Any suggestions?

Wintery Wonderland

Holy heck it's cold in Temecula.  Definitely need a change from my beachy winter wear.  I've put together some great outfits with what I bought last week.  I'm really a fan of the textured tights under dresses.  Super cute.  H&M has great 2 packs of tights for $20.  Both outfits below are paired with the textured tights from H&M.  The black top $28 and necklace $18, belt $18 are from Ragz, the purple top $34 (BOGO when the store opened on all fleece) and necklace $12 are from H&M, the pearl bracelet is from Charming Charlies 12, and boots $55 are from Reflections (just an FYI those boots are perfect for people with skinny calves they zip on the outside to adjust the size and they come in black and brown).  Jeans $35 on sale Nordstrom, Shirt $20, necklace, $12, scarf $14, shoes $32 Ragz, leather jacket Forever 21 $32. Most of my pieces are always reasonably priced and I do buy a lot of stuff on sale. Now that we have a family I am all about saving money.  In fact this week I'm headed to Marshall's and Ross to finally try my patience to find cute stuff there.  I'm also going to Nordie's to save my sanity.  Lol.
Check out all my links to the right.  I have started a pinterest account.  I try and pin great outfits I find on my fashionable fashion board.  Also, you can like my Facebook page and follow my Twitter.  I post articles on all sorts of stuff from fashion, to health and beauty.
